Perfect for roller derby

I bought the Krank 84A from a local store earlier this year. I installed them in my Sure-Grip Avenger plates, along with some flat washers. The feeling is incredible, it feels perfectly stable at high speed while still allowing some powerful change of direction. I prefer them to the default cushions (Sure-Grip Super Cushions in 85A) even though on paper the shape and hardness are the same. I couldn't recommend less Riptide cushions for derby skaters! I just wish the Krank formula could exist in hardness less than 84A, though the APS formula happily replace it for lighter skaters.

Feels like power steering for my skates

Fits bont tracer plate, makes my skates feel like I installed power steering, much more control and feel over stock bushing which felt like hard plastic. 84a:sunglasses:

Excellent

Brilliant addition to the reactor plate if you like a harder action. The cushions are great quality, I would definitely recommend them.

Second set!

Super fast shipping! I fell in love with Riptide cushions at Roller Con and when I got my derby setup a few weeks ago I immediately knew I’d be ordering another set!

Perfect!

I set up these skates with these 70A purple and some of Riptides 73A green cushions as a mixed set. I have yet to actually use these much, but they arrived quickly, feel like quality, and match my skates perfectly. I definitely recommend these :)

(Would love to see some of your cushions in glow in the dark and flourescent )

These look great!

I have yet to actually use these much, but they arrived quickly, feel like quality, and match my skates perfectly. I definitely recommend them and have no doubts the quality will last as long as it should. If I only had 1 request it would be some glow in the dark and/or flourescent options if it's possible :)

Perfect fit

I have purchased these bushings in both 73a and 78a durometer for SureGrip Avanti plates. The fit is perfect and easy to determine on the web site. The weight chart is very helpful. For my weight, the 73a is listed as very soft and I use this set only for slow patterns that I am trying to learn. The 78a is a good choice for most skating with good control and maneuverability.

There is NOTHING like it on the market.

Riptide DID what the entire roller skate industry REFUSED to do. The variety of durometers and urethane formulas here allow me to unlock the hidden performance in ANY roller skate plate. Even the plates that we all "hate" come to life and exhibit desirable, confidence building handling behavior. This is the way your skates are supposed to work!
I found Riptide when I was desperately trying to correct a stock geometry issue with my wife's Chaya Melrose skates. Chaya had spec'd plates and trucks with incompatible geometry. I needed a weird bushing size to help things fit together in a more functional way, and the tall barrel (0. 75") got the job done. So much so, that she STILL references those awful skates as having "the most natural" handling. This is the APS formula in a nutshell: Natural Handling. Your feet will go where your brain takes them.
My second(and third) experience with the APS formula was when setting up my young boy's skates. Y12 and Y1 boot sizes. Both kids under 60lbs. A Riedell R3 w/Thrust plate, and a Chicago "Rink" skate with surprisingly adequate junior plates. The Chicago sz12 skate got 0. 5/0. 6" APS cone/cone in the 65a durometer. Silky and awesome! The R3 Thrust plates got 0. 5/0. 6" APS barrel/cones in the 70a duro. So good!
My own personal experience (my skates) began with my pair of Riedell 135 skates with the Thrust plates. I never "hated" these plates as much as the internet does, but I also tried EVERY aftermarket roller skate bushing available and was always left with a feeling of total compromise. This period of compromise was brought to a close when I happened to try out some of the leftover 70a APS bushings from my son's skate project. Those bushings remain on that skate today. The energetic, playful nature of the APS formula perfectly compliments the flexibility of those suede Riedell boots. I have to think that their are thousands of Moxi Lolly skaters out there who would like to know about these!
My wife and I have both transitioned to Riedell Reactor Neo plates now for our indoor skates. She is extremely happy with the NEW 0. 5/0. 55" APS barrel/cone 70a bushings. I on the other hand, have discovered the WFB Formula. . . !!!
