My name is Possala Wang and I have been longboarding on and off for almost 5 years. I picked up skateboarding about 2 years ago, but I only really do it during winter months. I’ve honestly spent an equal amount of my skating career injured: torn PCL, contusions, road rash, bruising, broken/fracture bones and plenty of concussions. I like to say real skaters are those who never quit, no matter what life throws at them. I definitely respect skaters who skate safely to keep skating in the long run and still kill it. Push your limits, but do it wisely.
Downhill skateboarding is definitely my favorite type of skate. Dabbling in different styles of skating also keeps the spark bright so I would never get tired of it all. I started out cruising around, but slowly picked up speedboarding thanks to Mason [Mayday Mcnay] and the OG Jati Boards crew, who later became my first sponsor (the company, not the crew haha). RipTide Sports, Action Board Shop, Sk8bits, Darkspeed Gloves, Elrod Trucks, and Hawgs Wheels picked me up later on down the road. I am incredibly grateful to these companies for believing in me and I am glad to rep them.
Aside from longboarding, my life revolves around my precious cat, Marnie Mittens, and my love, Alex Mendez. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and a mood for art that comes and goes. My current job pays the bills and supports my needs, but my career journey has barely begun. Working 6 days a week doesn’t give me much time to work around things, but I definitely try. I love facing each day with a mind set to accomplish something, whether big or small, and ending the day with a smile and a serene mood. I can’t predict my future, but I can treasure my present.
