Team Rider Abdil Mahdzan Won Gold at World Skate Games!
We are delighted to congratulate our team rider Abdil Mahdzan on winning first place in luge at the 2023 Downhill Skateboarding and Street Luge World Championships! The finals took place in Tagatay City, Philippines, this past weekend in an incredible environment overlooking the Taal Volcano. The track was definitely a test of skaters' skill with 977 feet of elevation change and 6 hairpin turns over only 1.5 kilometers (0.9 miles)!
Street luge riders ride feet first on their backs on longer boards with 6 wheels. They can reach highway speeds only a few inches off the ground and wearing only leathers and helmets to protect them. It is an intense and thrilling sport to watch, and you can view the footage of Abdil crossing the finish line (about 11 minutes in) here!
